It’s the third Wednesday of the month and this #DemocracyDrinks theme is a little bit dictated by political news. Based on the book by S.Levitsky and D.Ziblatt “HOW DEMOCRACY DIES? , we will talk about the dangers for democracy in Lithuania.
In this book, the authors tell how, step by step, leaders with authoritarian tendencies are beginning to unravel the fragile fabric of democracy. We invite you to discuss and reflect on the dangers to democracy in the near future. And what can we, as civil society, do?
We are delighted that columnist Donatas Puslys has agreed to share his thoughts on this topic. He will be interviewed by Sandra Adomavičiūtė, Director of the Open Lithuania Foundation, and then, as usual, we will all discuss and share our insights.
🤝 #DemocracyDrinks is an international initiative offering a networking space for democracy advocates and supporters. Events are already taking place in Zurich, Montreal, Helsinki, Kathmandu, Washington DC and more. Vilnius is the city of 1️⃣3️⃣, where every month civil society, activists, business and academia are invited to meet and talk about the state of democracy and its challenges. In Vilnius, these meetings will take place on the third Wednesday of every month!
