GrassRoots Project Partner Meeting
2024 May 6 - 2024 May 7
A partner meeting will be held on May 6-7 for the European Commission-funded GrassRoots project, which is being implemented in Lithuania under the “Veikiam” program.
The project aims to strengthen and financially support small, regional organizations in Lithuania, as well as to bring together various NGOs from Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia for joint actions, activities, and campaigns against gender-based violence.
The project is being implemented by the Open Lithuania Foundation in partnership with:
- Center for Equality Advancement − (Lithuania) – a non-governmental organization that has been conducting information campaigns, advocacy, trainings, publishing articles and publications, and providing expertise on gender equality issues since 2003.
- MARTA Center (Latvia) – a non-governmental women’s rights organization founded in 2000 that provides social, legal, and psychological assistance to women who have experienced violence, as well as works to reduce stereotypes and involve young people.
- Women’s Support and Information Center (Estonia) – founded in 2002, the organization became the first shelter in the country for women who have experienced domestic violence. Later, the organization’s activities expanded into the areas of expertise and awareness raising.
