The new Advisory Council of the Open Lithuania Foundation was renewed
At the end of April 2019, the new Advisory Council of the Open Lithuania Foundation started its work. The institutional memory from the previous board will be transferred to the new one by Justinas Žilinskas, an expert in international humanitarian law, Professor at the Institute of International and European Union Law of Mykolas Romeris University, a publicist and a writer.
Some novel approaches and ideas were introduced to the OLF team by the Lithuanian financial analyst and public servant Milda Dargužaitė and the business consultant Rasa Bagdonienė, who openly expressed their support for the Open Lithuania Foundation.
From now on, the vision of an open, civic and democratic society will be developed by the Doctor of Philosophy Viktor Bachmetev and Gediminas Almantas, who has experience in developing and managing various organizations in the non-governmental (NGO) and commercial sectors. The forthcoming council strategy aims at a targeted redeployment of the OLF policy, development of a new phase of the OLF strategy for 2020-2022, assessment of NGO challenges in the current digital world and development of a sustainable OLF model.
Before 19 January 2019, the OLF Advisory Council consisted of Prof. Dr. Milda Ališauskienė, Domas Dargis, Prof. Dr. Aleksandras Dobryninas, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nerijus Milerius, Ovidijus Lukošius (a member of the Council of the Vilnius Institute of Policy Analysis since March 2019), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aurimas Švedas and Prof. Dr. Justinas Žilinskas.
Since the end of 2017, the shareholder rights in the Open Lithuania Foundation were held by Professor Irena Veisaitė, the initiator of the OLF. In 2018, Krzystof Czyzewski, Dr. Kęstutis K. Girnius and Skirma Anna Kondratas joined the OLF shareholders. In 2019, shareholder rights were also acquired by Rūta Kačkutė.
