🎨 The exhibition “A Barcode on the Doors of Time. 2014-2024” invites us to encounter memory that speaks not from history textbooks, but through real objects touched by war.

Ukrainian artist and soldier Volodymyr Bezrukyj, known by his call sign Picasso, creates works on authentic war artefacts, transforming them into sensitive signs of memory, resistance and hope.

In his work, the canvas becomes the doors of destroyed homes, shutters and old wooden boards from devastated Ukrainian cities, including Bakhmut. These are objects that have witnessed loss, yet in the artist’s hands they begin to speak of human strength, the price of freedom and a life that refuses to surrender.

🇺🇦 In Vilnius, we will present the exhibition during Vyshyvanka Choir 2026, when hundreds of people will gather to sing, be together and remember Ukraine’s heritage.

On this day, traditional Ukrainian patterns, songs and togetherness will become a living reminder that culture is not only memory, but also a form of resistance. That is why “A Barcode on Time’s Door” naturally becomes part of the meaning of Vyshyvanka Day: it speaks of a nation’s strength, history and freedom, which today is defended not only by soldiers, but also by culture, memory and solidarity.

📍 The exhibition has already travelled to Ukrainian cities: Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Kyiv, Uman, Odesa, Kropyvnytskyi and Dnipro, and has now arrived in Vilnius.

The exhibition reached Vilnius with the support of the Embassy of Lithuania in Ukraine and our partners, the Laboratory for Military and Political Analysis and Reconstruction. We are also grateful to Vilnius City Municipality, Vilnius Town Hall and LTG Infra for their cooperation.

🕠 On May 23 at 3:30 PM, artist Volodymyr Bezrukyj will present the exhibition and share its story in Vilnius Town Hall Square.

We invite you to come, hear the testimony of the Ukrainian people, experience the togetherness of Vyshyvanka Day and become part of a meaningful moment of solidarity between Lithuania and Ukraine.
