Meeting with Olena Kondratiuk “Trend towards gender equality in global and Ukrainian politics”

On 6 June 2024, there’ll be an online lecture-discussion for students with Olena Kondratiuk, Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, on the topic “Trend towards gender equality in global and Ukrainian politics”.

During the meeting we will see participants and the Vice Speaker analyse the trend towards gender parity in world politics and learn about the main barriers faced by women on their way to political heights, as well as the progress and challenges in this direction on the example of the Ukrainian parliament.

The lecture is a joint project of Ukreate Hub and the Educational Center of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The Educational Centre of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is a structural unit of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which aims to raise public awareness of the principles and functions of parliament and democracy, promote openness of the Ukrainian parliament and better interaction with citizens, as well as conduct educational programmes for Ukrainian schoolchildren and students. From the first day of the full-scale aggression, the Educational Centre of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did not stop its work for a single day, adapting to the new conditions in order to ensure a sustainable educational process for Ukrainian children: both those who remained in the country and those who were forced to temporarily go abroad.

Since 2019, more than 300,000 pupils and students from all over Ukraine and even abroad have taken part in the Education Centre’s online and offline events.
